![]() Naniloa Volcanoes Resort Puu Mahana, Green Sand Beach, is located primarily on the slopes of Mauna Loa, the worlds largest and most massive active volcano on the southwestern part of the island in the Kau' district. To get to this beach, one must either use a four-wheel drive or hike six miles from South Point, Ka Lae, the southern most tip of the United States (not an easy hike to this area, good foot ware and lots of drinking water is a necessity). The Big Island's main attraction is Hawaii Volcanoes National Park where Kilauea, the biggest active volcano in the world, has been erupting continuously since January 1983, pouring red lava into the ocean in a spectacular display of pyrotechnics. Just relax and enjoy our beautiful Hawaiian sunrise. Time stops here and your body and mind will relax and soak in the nature's power to the fullest. Impressive waterfalls dot the coastline. Most notably and easily accessible for visitors are Rainbow Falls above downtown Hilo, Akaka Falls just north of Hilo, and the 1,000 foot Hi'ilawe Falls in spectacularly scenic Waipio Valley near Honokaa. 93 Banyan Dr. HI, Hilo 96720 HI Map Other Categories: Big Island » Resorts |
